New electricity programs for consumers with electric cars

By launching its new EcoDrive programs, HERON, the leading energy producer and supplier in Greece, salutes the new institutional framework for electromobility and subscribes to the initiatives and actions of the European Union, and our country in particular, for addressing the issue of climate change.

HERON is the first private supplier of electricity to operate in Greece, with two power plants of a total capacity of 582 MW, which generate electricity by using natural gas as “clean” fuel.

Now, HERON once again plays a leading role in the transition to cleaner and “greener” forms of energy, through the provision of products and services for electric cars.

More specifically, HERON announces two new electricity programs for residential consumers who are also legal owners of electric cars:

1. The EcoDrive HOME program, designed for consumers with residential electricity supply connections without the infrastructure for electric charging stations.
2. The EcoDrive HOME CHARGE program, designed for consumers with residential electricity supply connections, in which HERON also provides the supply of an EVBox Elvi charger by ENGIE to the consumer’s home. This particular charger model is also eligible for funding according to the “KINOUMAI ILEKTRIKA” (I move with electricity) financing scheme announced by the Greek Ministry of Environment and Energy. HERON subscribers will have the opportunity to use the EVBox Elvi at a significant discount.

HERON’s aims to actively support customers in their money-saving efforts and at the same time promote the usage of electricity generated from clean energy, in order to achieve the ultimate goal of zero environmental footprint.

In this framework, the EcoDrive HOME and EcoDrive HOME CHARGE programs come with the following features:

• Provision of up to 50% of nighttime electricity consumption FOR FREE, without any requirement of installation of a night meter.
• 45% consistency discount.
• The electricity consumption bill will be issued in electronic form only (E-BILL); this not only promotes the reduction of paper usage, but also contributes to the overall effort for the protection of the environment.
• Subscribers will receive a Green Certificate, which will confirm that the electricity they have consumed has been generated by specific power plants that use Alternative Energy Sources.
• Each year, HERON will cover the costs for the purchase and planting of 1 tree on behalf of each subscriber, in the framework of afforestation programmes and corporate social responsibility activities in collaboration with Environmental Agencies.

HERON also offers the EcoDrive BUSINESS program to support businesses whose corporate fleets include electric vehicles. This program requires the use of a EVBox Elvi charger by ENGIE, and provides businesses with the opportunity for up to 100% FREE charging of their electric vehicles.
