HERON Group and ENGIE Foundation, in collaboration with the Greek National Opera, promote access to culture for children cared for by foundations and societies for child protection, such as Chatzikyriakeio, Ark of the World, “ELPIDA – Association of Friends of Children with Cancer”, Girls’ Christian Shelter “Agia Anna” and “The Smile of the Child”. This is the third year in a row that HERON Group and ENGIE Foundation jointly sponsor the production of plays for child audiences in the Greek National Opera. The sponsored show for the period 2019-2020 is the musical fairy tale “The Emperor’s Nightingale” for children and adolescent audiences, set to music by Lena Platonos. In the framework of this sponsorship that responds to the core values of HERON Group and ENGIE Foundation as regards the promotion of social inclusion and access to culture, the first 60 children and their escorts were given free tickets for the premiere of the play that took place on Sunday, October 20th, in the Greek National Opera’s Stavros Niarchos Hall at the Stavros Niarchos Cultural Center in Athens.
