HERON celebrates the New Year together with children
In cooperation with the Greek National Opera (GNO) and “Dipnosofistirion Catering”, HERON Group celebrated the New Year together with the young heroes from «Ark of the World» NGO, the Christian foundation Christianiki Stegi Koritsiou “Aghia Anna”, the NGO “The Smile of the Child”, the organization “The Home Project” and the NGO “METAdrasi”.

In cooperation with the Greek National Opera (GNO) and “Dipnosofistirion Catering”, HERON Group celebrated the New Year together with the young heroes from «Ark of the World» NGO, the Christian charity foundation Christianiki Stegi Koritsiou “Aghia Anna”, the NGO “The Smile of the Child”, the organization “The Home Project” and the NGO “METAdrasi”.
On Saturday, 25/01/2020, 70 children together with their escorting guardians attended the VIP Hall of the GNO at the Stavros Niarchos Foundation Cultural Center, where they prepared desserts and dishes together with the Executive Chef Dimitris Skarmoutsos and the Pastry Chef Charlotte Chatzidimitriou. All child protection organizations participated in a lottery that took place during the event. The winner of that day was “The Home Project” organization, which was awarded with a gift voucher amounting to 500 € to cover the needs of the children.
This is the 3rd year of HERON Group’s and Engie Foundation’s sponsorship in order to support children’s shows of the Greek National Opera. Last year, the show “The Emperor’s Nightingale” for children and adolescents by Lena Platonos was sponsored.
Throughout the cooperation, more than 300 children from children protection foundations and organizations and their escorting guardians were able to visit the Greek National Opera and watch various shows, as the tickets to the shows were donated by HERON Group and the Engie Foundation to the above organizations.
HERON’s team was pleased to contribute to the efforts of these organizations in their daily struggle in order to provide a better future to our young friends. With a strong sense of responsibility towards people and society, the company selected to conclude its cooperation with the Greek National Opera through a celebration dedicated to children that need our support the most. This was HERON’s way to promote access to culture as a right for everyone.
